Long term teaching in China 2010

Everything is just great. I am have been looked after by 9 kind local English Teacher at the school and by Mr Xu a gentleman who has been helping me to settle in Tiantai. Every body is very nice to me, I feel like David Beckham as each day the children asked for my signature in their books. Sometimes I ended with 40 books on my desk ready for my signature, just today Thursday one of the teacher need it to asked the kids to wait as my right hand hurts..

The first weeks, the weather was as cold as in England and it was raining properly, with thunders and heavy rain.. Now the weather is getting better and better…

Being a Teacher is not as easy as it looks, every day you learn a different way to approach the kids in the classroom as some of them are like me, chaterbox! Each job has it own magic and just the thought of me been able to be part of one or 3 of these kids life is great….

Some times after school lessons I play basketball with some children who live in the school and yesterday evening I have my first evening classes for an hour for 2 groups of kids who stay in here during the week.

Summer internship story 2008

I would like to say that I had an experience of a lifetime, which I would do again ten million times over… I have brought back very fond memories which I will always remember and keep close to my heart, I met fantastic people during my stay and the group I went with were amazing, we got on brilliantly! As mentioned on the phone there were a few ups and downs, but the final result is that I was in tears leaving China, and I definitely will return as soon as I get the chance too, so thanks for organising this internship, and all the best for the other interns, I hope they will enjoy their stay as much as I did and gain a lot of valuable life lessons there…

• a summer internship for teachers to go out for the months of July and August
• long term teaching positions for those who can commit to one year work in China
